John is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has decades of experience working with labor and management clients on labor relations and employment law matters. He has a strong academic interest in arbitration law and practice, specializing in using technology in legal and ADR practice. He regularly teaches graduate-level courses on arbitration and online dispute resolution. John is a current member of the Board of Advisors for the Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peace-building program at CSU Dominguez Hills and a past member of the Board of Advisors of the National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education and the Professions. He is a regular presenter at both national and international conferences. John is a member of the CA FMCS, SMCS, and LA County Employee Relations arbitration panels. John is also on the FMCS arbitration panel for Massachusetts.

FEE SCHEDULE

Per Diem rate is $1900. Per diem is charged for each full or partial day of hearing, study, and/or award preparation. Cancellations or postponements of confirmed hearing dates occurring 14 days or less before the hearing date will be assessed the per diem rate for one day. Cancellations or postponements of confirmed hearing dates occurring 14 to 28 days before the hearing date will be assessed the per diem rate for one half-day.

Travel​

Travel other than on the hearing date is charged at the per diem rate for one half-day for travel up to five hours and the per diem rate for travel greater than five hours. No additional charge is made for travel on the date of hearing. Reimbursable mileage is calculated from Woodland Hills for California arbitrations and Brookline for Massachusetts arbitrations.
